While the mic filters do help to make your voice sound clearer and more professional, the overall quality is not as good as some other gaming headsets on the market. Overall, I would say that the Logitech G733 Lightspeed performed exceptionally well in all the games I tested it in. While the Razer Nari Ultimate Wireless is a great gaming headset, it falls short when compared to the Logitech G733 Lightspeed. The main reason, I went with Logitech G733 is because it offers a longer battery life of up to 29 hours compared to the Razer Nari’s 20 hours. Additionally, the Logitech G733 offers a greater wireless range of up to 20 meters in comparison to the 12 meters of the Razer Nari, making it more versatile for gamers who like to move around while gaming.

Razer BlackShark V2 – Runner Up

Why do we choose this? Because the headphones come with immersive, 7.1 surround sound (only available on Windows 10 64-bit) for accurate positional audio. Design-wise, though it’s not that much curvy like logitech g733, it boosts more chubbiness. You can also experience featherweight; for just 240g the comfort element is supreme. I also loved its breathable memory foam ear cushions, making them an excellent choice for people like me, who spend long hours playing games.

The ear cups swivel a full 90 degrees, ensuring a space-saving design and allowed me to store them flat on my desk when I wasn’t using them. This let me manage these headset without a worry of cracking, breaking and any damage during travel.

Besides, I also found that the ear cups were easily removable, so they could be replaced in case they get damaged or worn out over time. Refreshes the look!

Almost everything is positive; however, there is a twist! The placement of the audio controls bugged me a little. The volume and mute buttons were placed on the back of the left ear cup, which took me some time to get used to. Initially, I found myself fumbling around trying to locate the buttons by touch.

The Razer BlackShark V2 is a headset that I’ve been using for a while now and I can say that it definitely delivers in terms of performance. The first thing that stands out to me is the custom-tuned 50mm drivers, which provide excellent positional audio, crucial for first-person shooting games.

The Triforce Titanium 50mm high-end sound drivers are divided into three parts for individual tuning of highs, mids, and lows, delivering a well-balanced sound profile. The bass is punchy and not overwhelming, while the highs are clear and not harsh on the ears. The microphone frequency response of 100 Hz – 10 kHz is great, allowing for clear and crisp communication with my teammates.

However, one issue I’ve noticed with this headset is that the microphone is good but not the best, considering other areas of splendid performance. While the Razer Hyperclear Cardioid Mic is an improvement over previous models, I’ve found that it can still pick up a fair amount of background noise, which can be frustrating at times.

Alternative to Razer BlackShark V2: Turtle Beach Stealth 600 Gen 2

Turtle Beach Stealth 600 Gen 2 is a good alternative to Razer BlackShark V2. However, while testing both of them side by side, I found that the BlackShark V2 offers a much better overall experience. The proprietary, lag-free 2.4GHz wireless connection on the BlackShark V2 provided a stable and reliable connection, even in noisy environments.

The Turtle Beach Stealth 600 Gen 2 also has some great features such as the Exclusive Superhuman Hearing, but the overall performance and design of the Razer BlackShark V2 make it the clear winner in terms of comfort, audio quality, and functionality.

HyperX Cloud II – Best for Small Ears

Why do we choose this? One thing that pulled my attention towards is 100K+ 4.5 rating. “Damn, this must be smoking something else” my inner feelings when I had an  initial view of this most comfortable gaming headphone.  So, The HyperX Cloud II is a perfect choice for gamers who prioritize comfort while gaming. Like many others in this league, this headset also possesses memory foam ear cushions and a padded leatherette headband, providing exceptional comfort during long gaming sessions. Along with the comfort elements a frequency response of 15-25kHz ensures that you hear crispy in-game details.

Who is it for? For budget users who don’t want to sacrifice sound quality and comfort.

Performance and Gameplay

When gaming, I always prioritize the quality of sound and the ability to locate my enemies’ footsteps or gunfire, and the HyperX Cloud II has truly delivered on both fronts.

I tested this headset with Rainbow Six Siege and was blown away by the headset’s 7.1 virtual surround sound, which allowed me to hear the slightest of sounds with great clarity.

Next up was Call of Duty: Warzone and the HyperX Cloud II did not disappoint. The headset was amazing in all the other first-person shooting games I was able to hear my teammates’ callouts loud and clear thanks to the detachable, noise-canceling microphone. Talking about the bass and in-depth noise, I could hear the faintest of footsteps, as well as directional sound which helped me identify the location of enemies with precision.

However, there was one negative aspect that I experienced with the HyperX Cloud II. During long gaming sessions, I felt like my ears got a bit hot, and I had to take off the headset for a few minutes to cool down. This could be due to the over-ear design of the headphones, which may not be suitable for all users.

Moreover, these headphones may not suit the gamers who love to play games on louder and bass-oriented music. The Bass is there but not that much to hit right in the ear. The overall sound theme is more “Treble” and the native software is much simpler and offers limited customization which is a bit of a turnoff. But no harsh complains as it’s a budget-headphones.

One of the first things that caught my eye about the headset was its minimalist but sleek and stylish design. While the majority of the gaming peripherals ride the plastic materials, machined aluminum construction throughout the headset gives it a premium look and feel, making it stand out from other gaming headsets.

The bass on the Corsair Virtuoso was incredibly powerful and punchy, providing an immersive experience for games with lots of action, such as Call of Duty and Battlefield. The midrange was equally impressive, and the headset was able to deliver crystal-clear vocals in games like Overwatch and Rainbow Six Siege.

The Corsair Virtuoso’s 7.1 surround sound feature made my gaming experience even more immersive, allowing me to pinpoint the exact location of in-game sounds. This was especially helpful in games like Fortnite and Apex Legends, where hearing your opponent’s footsteps can mean the difference between victory and defeat.

Need to mention here that the headset delivered an impressive frequency range of 20Hz-40,000Hz, providing clear and detailed audio for every game. The only downside I experienced with the Corsair Virtuoso headset was the noise-canceling feature, which didn’t work as I expected. It did reduce external noise to a certain extent, but it didn’t completely eliminate it, and I could still hear some background noise while gaming.

But undoubtedly, I personally got amused by the Broad-casting grade Omnigrade microphone. There is nothing fancy in the design but the high bandwidth results in acknowledging a flawless and heartrobing voice clarity by my fellow gamers. Yes, it picks some faint noises, but that is bearable. And since it’s detachable, it allows me to give almost full marks to the design and communication department. 

Overall, the Corsair Virtuoso gaming headset provided an exceptional performance and gameplay experience, delivering clear and detailed audio, a detachable microphone, and a comfortable design.

While testing Corsair Virtuoso, I also had the opportunity to try out the EPOS Audio H6PRO headset, and I must say that the Virtuoso stands out as the clear winner. The Corsair Virtuoso offers unmatched sound quality with its precisely tuned 50mm high-density neodymium speaker drivers that deliver an impressive frequency range of 20Hz-40,000Hz.

On the other hand, the EPOS Audio H6PRO, while delivering signature balanced EPOS audio, doesn’t match the immersive sound experience offered by the Virtuoso. Also, the 7.1 surround sound of the Virtuoso offers an unparalleled gaming experience, especially in first-person shooter games where the sound of footsteps and gunshots can make all the difference.

ASUS ROG Delta S – Best for Long-Hour Gaming

Why do we choose this? Because of the D-shaped airtight chamber design which provides clear and immersive sound quality. You’ll hear some names in the specs like the AI Beamforming Microphones and Noise Cancelation for which the headset ensures exceptional voice pick-up and reduces background noises for clear in-game communication. Right out of the box, I was impressed with the unique design of the ASUS ROG Delta S. The sleek black and silver color scheme with the signature ASUS ROG logo gave the headphones a modern and professional look. Yes, the combination of black and somewhat silver wasn’t the out of this world thing for me. 

Yet, the D-shaped was! Despite not being the conventional oval or round earcups, the uniquely designed ear cushions fit comfortably around my ears, providing a snug and secure fit without feeling too tight or constricting.

Another aspect of the design that I appreciated was the adjustable headband. It was easy to adjust the headphones to fit my head comfortably, and they stayed in place without feeling loose or wobbly.

I really loved its low-latency wireless 2.4 GHz and Bluetooth connections, both of which provided me greater freedom, allowing me to move around without worrying about cables. Asus claims the fast charging feature, allowing 3 hours of use with a 15-minute charge, and 100% battery to retain 25 hours. 

Well, in my case, during the gameplay with a distance of 10m, I estimated a 23:45 hours before I put it on charge. Though it isn’t what the manufacturer claims, but these are still impressive numbers

However, one minor issue with the headphones is the placement of the controls. The buttons are located on the left ear cup and can be a bit difficult to reach, especially during intense gaming sessions where a little distraction can cost your entire move.

Performance and Gameplay

Technically, I feel the sound quality of ASUS ROG Delta S was ahead of many of the headphones in the same price range.

Its exclusive 50mm ASUS Essence drivers and airtight chamber design offered excellent clarity, with the bass being deep and punchy, and the high pitches being crystal clear. Bass Lovers out there! Here is a perfect deal for you.

With the patent Asus technical setup, I was able to hear every little detail of the game’s audio, from the sounds of footsteps to the rustling of leaves in the wind.

To be very specific, with stunning audio performance, its AI Beamforming Microphones powered by Noise Cancelation were very impressive when playing shooting games such as CS:GO or Call of Duty. 

The mic picked up my voice clearly, even in the noisiest of environments (I remember using it while my dad drills in the other room), and reduced background noises, making communication with my team members smooth and effortless.

While the ASUS ROG Delta S excels in many areas, there are a few minor negatives. The ear cushions may become slightly uncomfortable if you are playing with a high-pitch sound, but the ergonomic D-shaped design helps to mitigate this to some extent. While the EPOS Audio H6PRO headphones offer some impressive features, the ASUS ROG Delta S stands out as the superior choice.
