Why did we choose this? Considering the Arctis Nova 7, you might get confused between Arctis 7x and Arctis 9. But I have to choose Nova 7 due to Better value to money, including lesser weight, better cross platform compatibility, and inclusion of AI noise cancellation. And mind it, a combination of 38-hour battery life and AI-powered noise-canceling mic makes it a savior for me in hyper traveling mode and in noisy areas. Talking about other features, a custom-designed Nova Acoustic System with High Fidelity Drivers and a first-in gaming Pro-grade Parametric EQ for fully customizable sound; We also loved its 360° Spatial Audio, dual audio streams, and multi-platform support that makes it quality beast.

The plush, velvety texture and the rotating earcups with AirWeave Memory Foam cushions ensured a perfect fit for my head. Plus, they’re massive enough to engulf my ears, which is crucial for sound isolation.

The Aluminum headband has a durable frame and I was able to use them for hours while playing Dota 2 without any aches or pains. One thing that’s dope about the Arctis Nova 7 is how intuitive it is to use. The controls are user-friendly, especially the dialer to tweak the audio balance and one touch Mute button enhance the experience to handle my purposes. 

However, the size of ear cups and aluminum materials add some extra weight. While most of the best wireless gaming headsets range between 250-280 gms, it beholds 324 gms which may not fascinate the lightweight lovers. Anyways, I particularly loved its retractable mic (similar to the Razer Nari which we will review later) which is another rad feature that makes these headphones a cinch to use. When not in use, I can tuck it back into the ear cup, and it’s out of sight.

Arctis Nova 7 also comes with a USB-C dongle that provides a seamless, lag-free wireless connection to your device. It’s petite and portable, so you can bring it with you on the go. Plus, there’s also a USB-A adapter included, which is clutch if you’re using an older device that lacks USB-C. 

Overall, the design isn’t much groovy and sporty but shares impressive practicality to improve “That” missing gaming experience.

Performance and Gameplay

High Fidelity drivers produce crisp, clear sound with decent bass that turns into mesmerizing sound quality. The frequency response is also good but not exceptional as we saw in Corsair HS8 and ASUS ROG Theta , it only ranges from 20Hz to 20kHz. However, it allowed me to never miss the subtle sounds of footsteps, environmental noise, and gunfire in games like Call of Duty and Rainbow Six Siege.

The Pro-grade Parametric EQ!, ahh what a thing it is; allowed me phenomenal customization to the sound output to my liking. The EQ settings made the distant sounds more prominent in games like CS: GO and PUBG, which helped me pinpoint enemy locations with ease.

The 7.1 Surround Sound is a game-changer, giving you a 7D realism in the game. The spatial audio is excellent, allowing me to have my ears even to a fainted whisper. I literally had a better experience than my fellow gamers.

Besides, Dual Audio Streams is a fascinating and most purposeful thing, adding the possibility to mix two audio connections at the same time. This is perfect for when I’m gaming with friends and want to chat while gaming.The only complaint Bass lovers might have, it’s not an Intensive Bass Gadget. The bass isn’t too overpowered and deep at times, which sometimes don’t raise emotions in games like Sniper 3. However, this was easily fixed by adjusting the EQ to my liking but also made the sound quality a bit unsatisfying.

Alternative to NEW SteelSeries Arctis Nova 7: EPOS Audio H6PRO

Taking EPOS Audio H6PRO as an alternative, I have to say that both headsets have their merits. The H6PRO provides a balanced and immersive audio experience, with a lightweight build and comfortable memory foam ear pads. The closed-back ear cups also help to block out environmental distractions, which can be a major advantage during intense gaming sessions.

However, when it comes down to it, Arctis 7 offers a better custom-designed Nova Acoustic System with high-fidelity drivers and a Pro-grade Parametric EQ, which allows for fully customizable sound.

The 360° Spatial Audio edges out the competition, providing an immersive surround sound experience that transports you directly into the game world.

ASTRO Gaming A50 – Runner Up

Why did we choose this? Battery life may not be stellar but killer aesthetics renders sportier looks. Its fine-tuned Astro Audio V2 along with Dolby Audio and Dolby Atmos (only available for the Xbox version) provides accurate and immersive sound quality. But To be honest, choosing this headset was a tough decision as the Astro A40 offered almost the same features and was priced similarly, except for the sound quality.

In addition, I appreciate that ASTRO has retained their Command Center software in this upgrade. This software offered a thorough control over the audio management, striking a good balance between customization and sound quality, which was something I love when playing open-world and role-playing games.

Who is it for? High-quality sound and a comfort, Hard-hitting and professional gamers, aesthetics conscious, upper-moderate budget.

Who should avoid it? Budget users, lightweight seekers.

Design and Usability

When examining the design and usability of the ASTRO Gaming A50 headset, I must express my utmost admiration and awe. Surely, the aggressive all-black sportier looks had my all heart making it a killer combo with my gaming setup. The exceptional build quality ensures durability, capable of withstanding the rigors of frequent use..

One of the standout features of the A50 is the comfortable fit. The ear cup setup is truly impressive even for big ears. The well-padded ear cups offer superb noise isolation, allowing users to become fully immersed in their gaming experiences. Furthermore, the adjustable headband caters to heads of all sizes, making it an inclusive choice for gamers from all walks of life.

The ingenuity doesn’t stop there! The headset also had a flip-to-mute microphone, and let me tell you, this baby was as easy to operate as 1-2-3 (yup, no whimsical).

As for the USB sound card, it’s good in most of the scenarios. I can personally endorse the effortless setup and compatibility with PCs make it a breeze to use, while additional functionalities, such as voice balancing, enhance the overall experience.

However, one minor issue I did encounter is that the ear cups can get a little warm after extended use. Obviously the breathability issue with almost all over-ear headphones, but it’s worth mentioning nonetheless.

Performance and Gameplay

As someone who loves to play first-person shooter games, I found the ASTRO Gaming A50 to be exceptional when it came to performance and gameplay. 

The addition of Dolby Atmos makes it highly worthy in the Quality Audio department. The headset’s 7.1 surround sound allowed me to accurately pinpoint the direction of in-game sounds, such as gunfire or footsteps, giving me a clear advantage over other players due to a highly practical setup of clear highs, mids, and deep bass

The aspect that truly captivated me was the headset’s minimal latency, ensuring seamless synchronization between the audio I heard and the on-screen action. This feature greatly improved my ability to respond quickly and accurately to in-game situations, resulting in a substantially more enjoyable gaming experience.

The A50’s microphone also exceeded my expectations. Though I liked HyperX Cloud II and Razer BlackShark V2 for their mind-blowing microphone setup, Its noise-canceling feature has it’s own charm. The noise-canceling abilities eliminated almost every background noise, making my voice come through clearly and ensuring that my teammates could hear my commands without any issues.

Regarding the drawbacks, I noticed that after prolonged usage, the A50’s ear cups might exert some pressure on the ears. Although the headset is generally comfortable, those with larger ears could find the ear cups slightly restrictive. It’s important to consider individual comfort preferences and ear sizes when selecting a headset

Alternative to Astro Gaming A50: CORSAIR VIRTUOSO

With CORSAIR VIRTUOSO, Logitech Pro X wireless, JBL Quantum 800 racing the Astro Gaming A50, I took Corsair as the better alternative. So, A50 decently provides audio quality and customization options. While the VIRTUOSO boasts a sleek and stylish design and offers a wide range of wireless connectivity options, its audio quality falls short compared to the A50. 

The feature that made A50 top this battle was its extreme customization option. The A50’s game: voice balance gives the user total control over the mix of the game as well as audio, while the Virtuoso doesn’t have anything close to similar.

Logitech G733 – Best Mid-Range Wireless Headphones

Why did we choose this? An excellent mid-ranger with a most decent balance of specifications vs performance. I mean, the manageable weight, good durability and superb performance stability make it a strong all-rounder. Most importantly, the lightspeed wireless audio transmission with advanced mic filters, offering a 20-meter range and a battery life of up to 29 hours got my attention. And not to forget, I really liked the soft dual-layer memory foam that didn’t twinge my ears during extended gaming sessions. 

Who is it for? Performance Oriented mid-rangers, robust wireless connectivity. Travelers and professionals  

Who should avoid it? Have smaller ear canals, as the earbuds may not fit snugly enough to obtain the correct sound quality.

Design and Usability

I was immediately vibing with the G733’s sleek design and sick customizable lighting. The dope, reversible suspension headband was hella comfy even during marathon gaming sessions, and the dual-layer memory foam conforms to my head, reducing stress points. Plus, this headset campaigns among the best lightweight wireless gaming headphones, weighing only 278 grams, that I forget it’s even on my head!

The controls on the headset are super user-friendly. Good arrangement will make you able to find the power button, volume control, and mic mute button on the left earcup that’s easy to reach and aren’t prone to delays or hiccups while you are gaming.

The center of attention I experienced was its lightspeed wireless audio transmission. Flawless, Robust Connectivity, Crispy crunchy transmission!

I didn’t experience any lag or interruption during gameplay. The headset has a range of up to 20 meters, it’s not the highest considering the cheapest Corsair HS70 but definitely is the best when it comes to stability. With that extensive range, the freedom to move around and adjust my seating while still being able to hear the game audio was not less than a blessing for me.

For RGB lovers, here is the dual-zone Lightsync 16.8M colors RGB lighting on the front side, making it a breeze for me to add some personality to the headset. 

Performance and Gameplay

For high-quality audio, the advanced PRO-G drivers come in for combat. Especially designed to significantly reduce distortion and reproduce precise, consistent, rich sound quality, makes it a good sound quality wireless gaming headphone.

I tested the headset on several games, including Call of Duty, and World of Warcraft. The deep sound effects reached the core of my nervous system. 

Since it has all-rounder intent, the headset’s frequency response range is 20 Hz – 20 kHz which isn’t extraordinary but accurately handles a wide range of audio frequencies, from deep bass tones to high-pitched treble sounds. But if you want something extra more than this, Audio-Technica ATH-M50X can do the purpose in almost the same pricing.

Additionally, the adjustable EQ setting allows users to customize the sound profile to their liking, though it may not be as customizable as some other high-end gaming headsets.

Talking about that, I did experience minor connectivity issues using g733 at a considerable distance from my console. Technically, the headset’s wireless range was not always reliable, and I found myself having to stay within a certain distance from my Xbox to avoid connectivity issues.

Moreover, the advanced mic filters make your voice sound richer, cleaner, and more professional.  For effective voice communication in teamwork and strategy games, G733 has an astounding legacy..

Overall with multiple ups and downs, Logitech G733’s performance and gameplay provided me with a seamless and immersive gaming experience, and the advanced mic filters made communication with other players crystal clear.

Alternative to Logitech G733: Turtle Beach Stealth 600 Gen 2 MAX

Well, It got something that Stealth Gen 2 just couldn’t match such as the dope RGB lighting that you can personalize to match your vibe, plus it’s way lighter than the Stealth 600 Gen 2.The G733 is also hella comfortable, thanks to the dual-layer memory foam and reversible suspension headband. On the performance side, the G733’s PRO-G drivers are built to reduce distortion and deliver crisp, rich sound. But then Stealth 600 Gen 2 put a huge impact with a bombastic 48+ hours battery life, better 50MM speakers, and a proud to get officially licensed by Microsoft XBOX.

Razer Nari Ultimate – Best Wireless Headphone for Voice Communication

Why did we choose this? Though it doesn’t render outstanding specifications, industry-leading audio realism for immersive gameplay is a real thing here. With THX Spatial 7.1 surround sound and Razer Hypersense Haptic Feedback, this headset delivers positional accuracy and unparalleled immersion. I also loved its auto-adjusting headband and soft cloth cushions that come loaded with cooling gel to ensure comfort and convenience during gameplay.

Who’s it for? First-person shooters and action games, lower-moderate budget, 

Who should avoid it? Extended hours gameplay, specs-oriented gadgets

Typically, The Razer Nari features a sleek, modern design with matte black finish and subtle accents of Razer’s signature green color.

What I liked the most about this headset is the auto-adjusting headband. That being said the wireless gaming headset prioritizes comfort with a combination of swiveling ear cups, and plush memory foam cushioning. These elements work together to distribute pressure evenly, reduce clamping force, and adapt to the user’s head shape, ensuring comfort during long gaming sessions. 

As most headphones have breathability issues, Nari holds Cooling gel-infused ear cushions which were a standout feature for me as i didn’t experience this feature even in expensive wireless gaming headset like beyerdynamic MMX 300 (2nd Generation), SteelSeries Arctis Pro, SENNHEISER GSP 670. This setup helped me to reduce heat build-up and provided a comfortable fit. 

Yet talking about usability – it was impressive and exactly what you would expect from a budget wireless gaming headset. The retractable mic with audio adjustment made it easy to tune game/chat balance is one story to tell. 

But Razor makes it entirely ingenious with Modular design. 

The detachable ear cushions and a removable microphone bless users to replace or upgrade these components as needed, ensuring the headphones can adapt to changing needs and preferences and enhances the life.

Performance and Gameplay

With its Younger brother lacking this, the addition of HyperSense is the real talk of the town. Basically, HyperSense innovatively adds an extra layer of immersion to the gaming experience by providing tactile feedback based on in-game audio cues. The reason behind this is Nari Ultimate utilizes Lofelt L5 haptic drivers, which are capable of providing a wide range of vibrations and frequencies to simulate various in-game events.

So, I tested the Razer Nari Ultimate while playing a variety of games, including first-person shooters, role-playing games, and racing games. Being a budget headset, the audio quality was exceptional, with a frequency response of 20 Hz – 20 kHz ensuring that every sound was crystal clear.

In FPS games like Call of Duty and Battlefield, the audio and haptic feedback helped me to pinpoint enemy locations and react quickly to incoming fire.The reason behind this is the headset’s THX Spatial 7.1 surround sound, I definitely loved it due to the accurate positional audio, made it easier to locate enemies and environmental sounds. Being a budget headphone, the bass response is also impressive and adds depth to explosions and other low-frequency sounds.

However, the headset sometimes feels a bit heavy after extended use. While I endorse the auto-adjusting headband that helps to alleviate some of this, I still found myself needing to take breaks after a few hours of gaming to avoid discomfort. 

But this doesn’t become a harsh complaint due to ultra-low latency of around 15ms similar to HyperX Cloud Flight S and ROG Strix Fusion 700, ensuring that audio transmission remains in sync with the gaming action, minimizing any perceptible audio delay. The only complaint I had was poor battery life that only drew me 10 hours with Razer Chroma and HyperSense enabled. Otherwise, it can give you 16 hours to be exactly

Overall, the Razer Nari Ultimate offers an excellent audio experience with its advanced audio features and THX Spatial 7.1 surround sound. It is definitely one of the best gaming headsets on the market, but it does come with some drawbacks.

Alternative to Razer Nari Ultimate: RIG 800 PRO HS

As someone who has tested both headsets, I have found that while the RIG 800 PRO HS does offer impressive wireless performance, the Razer Nari Ultimate provides a superior overall experience.

The RIG 800 PRO HS has a decent audio output, but it falls short when it comes to reproducing accurate and detailed sound. On the other hand, the Razer Nari Ultimate’s Hypersense haptic feedback and THX Spatial 7.1 surround sound provide unparalleled audio realism for intense, in-game immersion and positional accuracy.

HyperX Cloud Stinger 2 – Best Wireless Gaming Headphone Under $100

Why did we choose this? Because of its signature X Spatial Audio that provides accurate 3D audio spatialization and localization. For this budget, I also found the 20 hours of battery life something unexpected as similar models were only lasting up to 15 hours e:g Logitech G533, SteelSeries Arctis 1. The 2.4GHz wireless connectivity is reliable and the headset is designed for gamers who want immersive audio and comfort during long gaming sessions.

Who’s it for? Casual and Budget users, Streamers and team players, multi-platform

Design and Usability

Though there are not as many nitty-gritties or flashier features in this headset. It feels lightweight (275g only), and the soft leatherette and memory foam cushioning makes it a breeze to wear for extended periods of time.

Considering the Usability, I really appreciated the swivel-to-mute noise-canceling microphone like I did in SteelSeries Arctis 5, Logitech G Pro, Turtle Beach Recon 500. It’s a small feature, but being able to flip the mic up and out of the way when I didn’t need it was incredibly convenient. I didn’t have to fumble with any buttons or switches to mute myself, which meant I could focus on the game without any distractions.

The overall aesthetic of the headset is very straightforward. The black color scheme is sleek and stylish, and the headset has a modern, streamlined look that I really dig. The ear cups are also adjustable, so I was able to find the perfect fit for my head. 

One thing I will note, however, is that the volume controls are located on the bottom of the right ear cup, which took some time getting used to. It wasn’t a deal-breaker by any means, but I did accidentally adjust the volume a few times when I was trying to adjust the position of the headset on my head.Also, the size of the earcups may not be suitable for everyone, especially those with larger ears like me. It caused some discomfort during my longer gaming sessions. And to top it off, the earcups’ material could trap heat, making my ears feel super sweaty after hours of play.

Performance and Gameplay

Let’s talk about DTS headphones:X. What adds to the performance during gameplay was its signature DTS Headphone:X Spatial Audio technology, that is the core thing behind Multi-channel audio simulation,Object-based audio support, Headphone optimization, and Cross-platform compatibility. 

So when I say Cloud stinger 2 simulates a 3D surround sound experience, providing users with a more immersive and realistic audio experience for gaming, movies, and other content, this technology is the main ingredient behind this recipe. 

Similarly, the headset comes with 50mm drivers, which deliver immersive audio with crystal-clear highs and mids. The bass response is particularly impressive, making explosions and gunshots in games sound like they’re happening right next to you, however, it is not as impressive as other headphones we reviewed earlier.

When it comes to frequency response, it ranged from 20Hz to 20kHz during testing, providing a balanced audio profile that’s perfect for gaming, music, and movies. Stringer 2 also has an impedance of 32 Ohms, (tested using a multimeter), meaning it can handle higher volumes without distorting the audio quality, but to be honest, this wasn’t the case when playing PVP games.However, one thing that could be improved in terms of performance is wireless connectivity. While the 2.4GHz wireless connection is solid and eliminates cords, it can sometimes drop out or have latency issues, particularly in crowded wireless environments. This can be a bit frustrating when playing fast-paced games that require quick reflexes.

Alternative to HyperX Cloud Stinger 2: RIG 700HX Ultralight

RIG 700HX Ultralight Wireless is a solid gaming headset that competes with the HyperX Cloud Stinger 2. Both headsets have their unique features, making it a difficult choice to choose between them. One of the significant differences between the two is the audio quality.

While the RIG 700HX is designed for 3D game audio with Dolby Atmos for Headphones, the HyperX Cloud Stinger 2 offers DTS Headphone:X Spatial Audio, providing an enhanced perception, awareness, and immersion experience. Similarly, HyperX Cloud Stinger 2 provided a longer battery life of up to 20 hours, which was a lot better than RIG 700HX
